Liam Hemsworth wears a Casio G-Shock

Arkansas, Clark Duke's 2020 directorial debut, follows two low-rung drug couriers running product through the back roads of the South. Liam Hemsworth plays Kyle, the quieter and more dangerous of the pair, with Duke himself as his motormouth partner Swin and Vince Vaughn as the dealer pulling the strings. The watch turns up where a man like Kyle would actually use one. In a night burial scene, the headlights of a parked van rake across a field while he drives a shovel into the dirt in work gloves, and on his left wrist, just above the glove cuff, sits a dark, chunky digital watch. It is the disposable sort of tool watch that suits dirty manual work. The night grade runs so deep, though, that the dial never resolves: you can see that he is wearing a watch, not whose name is on it. The shape fits a Casio G-Shock, the resin-armored digital that has become action cinema's default tool watch, but the screen never gives up quite enough to be sure.
