In Ridley Scott's Body of Lies, Roger Ferris is the CIA's man on the ground in the Middle East, and the ground is mostly Morocco, which stood in for Iraq and Jordan after Dubai read the script and said no. Leonardo DiCaprio plays him. In one desert scene Ferris sits in the dirt and holds a phone up at the sky, where a Predator drone is watching him for his handler half a world away, and on his other wrist is a steel watch on a brown leather strap.

That watch has never been identified. The press that covers watches in film has written about Body of Lies and named exactly one watch in it, and it is not this one. On the spotting sites the request for an identification sits open and unanswered, and in a forum thread devoted to the movie's watches, one poster asked about DiCaprio's and nobody had an answer. What the screen gives us is a round steel case, a pale clean dial with slim dark hands, no complication in sight, and that brown strap. A Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control matches the description closely, and that is the identification offered here: a reading of the screen, not a documented fact.

The other wrist belongs to Ed Hoffman, the handler, played by Russell Crowe. Hoffman runs Ferris from the Washington suburbs, working an earpiece through school runs, grocery aisles, and his kids' soccer games; Crowe described him as a man playing a video game that Ferris is inside in real life. The drones follow the man in the field, and the documented watch sits on the man at the soccer game. Hoffman wears a Breitling Emergency, the outsized Breitling built around a distress beacon, and it is the only watch in Body of Lies anyone has put a name to.
