Trainwreck came out in 2015, Judd Apatow's comedy written by and starring Amy Schumer, with Bill Hader as a sports doctor named Aaron. LeBron James plays himself, cast as Aaron's best friend and unofficial life coach. The joke is that this LeBron is sentimental and tight with money, the kind of friend who stages an intervention about your love life and then argues over how to split the lunch bill.
He spends those scenes wearing a watch he helped make. LeBron has been an Audemars Piguet ambassador for years, and in 2013 the brand brought him to its workshops in Le Brassus to design his own Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph, a rose gold, titanium, and ceramic piece in gold and grey, limited to 600. Hodinkee called it "a limited edition fit for the King." It retailed around fifty thousand dollars. So the man on screen haggling over a lunch check is doing it while wearing roughly a car's worth of watch, one he designed himself.
