Laura Dern wears an unidentified watch

Laura Dern was eighteen when David Lynch cast her as Sandy Williams, the detective's daughter who helps Jeffrey Beaumont investigate a severed ear found in a field. She had dropped out of UCLA two days into her first semester to take the part. Blue Velvet is a film about what festers underneath small-town normalcy, and Sandy is the normalcy — the cheerful blonde girlfriend who represents everything safe and comprehensible about Lumberton before things get very dark.

Dern wears a small silver-toned watch on her left wrist, visible in a diner scene opposite Kyle MacLachlan. It is a slim ladies' piece that fits Sandy's girl-next-door wardrobe perfectly. The make has not been identified.
