Marcus Sommers grips the bars of his racing bike, a fingerless glove on his hand and a dark watch riding on his wrist, his younger brother David straining beside him. Kevin Costner plays Marcus in American Flyers, John Badham's 1985 film about two brothers who drive west to a punishing Colorado stage race the movie calls the Hell of the West.
