Damien Leone made Terrifier (2016) for somewhere around $35,000, crowd-funded and shot around New York with a tiny crew. The 84-minute slasher is built around Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton), who never speaks and never explains himself. It became a cult hit and then a real franchise, with Terrifier 2 and 3 reaching wide theatrical release. Katie Maguire plays Monica Brown, the talk-show host whose interview with the massacre's lone survivor frames the film, and whom that survivor attacks once the cameras are off.
The Rolex on Maguire's wrist is an Oyster Perpetual Date in steel, on an Oyster bracelet: an Oyster case, a date window at three, the self-winding perpetual movement, and not much else. How a Rolex of any kind ended up in a $35,000 horror film, the production never says.
