Josh Hutcherson wears a Cartier Tank Française

In The Beekeeper, Josh Hutcherson plays Derek Danforth, a tech-bro running an international data-scam operation who also happens to be the son of the sitting President of the United States. There is a scene where he stands with his arm wrapped around his mother, the President, in a room full of gilt lamps and candelabra, the two of them looking up at something off-camera. On the wrist resting against her is a Cartier.

The Tank is the oldest of Cartier's dress watches, a flat rectangle the house has made since 1917, the watch of people who already have money more than people chasing it. On the President's son, who built an international scam ring, the steel version reads less like a tech fortune than an inheritance. The white dial with Roman numerals and a railroad minute track is unmistakably Cartier, and the integrated steel bracelet marks it as the Tank Française, though the angle never gives up a reference.
