Josh Hartnett wears a Movado Verso

Josh Hartnett turns up in the fourth season of The Bear as Frank, the new husband of Richie's ex-wife Tiff, a tech bro with a curated art collection he knows nothing about. The prop department dressed that part down to the wrist. You might expect an Omega or a Richard Mille on a man like Frank. He wears a Movado Verso Chronograph instead.

It belongs to Movado's Bold line: a 44mm steel case, a Swiss quartz chronograph, three subdials set under a tachymeter bezel, and Movado's signature dot where the 12 marker should be. That dial is the reason it got the job. Three counters and a tachymeter scale read as a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona from across a room, which is why prop master Laura Roeper chose it. "It looks like a Daytona. That's why we used it," she told GQ. Hartnett, by her account, knows watches and has the taste to match, but Roeper often gets a single day with a guest actor and no time to source a thirty-thousand-dollar Rolex.

So Frank's wrist plays the same game Frank does. The disguise breaks in one place, the Movado dot resting at 12 where a Daytona carries nothing, and only if you are close enough to look. The watch lists around $1,200 and sells for under $900. The Rolex it stands in for runs to the thirty thousand dollars Roeper did not have a day to spend.
