Molly Bloom greets her players in a plum cocktail dress, hand extended across a hotel suite she has turned into a poker room, and on the wrist she offers them sits a small gold watch on a textured gold bracelet. Aaron Sorkin made Molly's Game (2017) as his directorial debut, from the memoir of the real Molly Bloom, a former Olympic-class skier who ran the world's most exclusive underground poker empire. Jessica Chastain plays her, with Idris Elba as her lawyer, Kevin Costner as her father, and Michael Cera as Player X, a composite character the film built from Bloom's interactions with Tobey Maguire and the popularity of Leonardo DiCaprio.

This entry once called the watch a Limelight, following a French watch site, and the Limelight Gala really is Chastain's watch, but on the red carpet: as Piaget's International Brand Ambassador she presented the collection and wore a diamond-set Gala to the Golden Globes the season the film opened. Piaget's own announcement about the film says something different and more specific: "Pieces from the Piaget Tradition watch line and Possession jewelry are worn throughout the film." The gold bracelet watch in the game-room scenes matches the Tradition line, with none of the Gala's asymmetric diamond lugs or satin strap.

The ambassadorship runs through her roles. The year before, as the lobbyist in Miss Sloane, Chastain wore three different Piagets, a Dancer, a Traditional Oval, and an Altiplano; Molly's Game made it a fourth part dressed by the brand. Piaget published its announcement in January 2018, proud, as the release put it, "to be once more accompanying Jessica Chastain... during her acting moments."
