Rififi (1955) is Jules Dassin's French heist classic, built around a near-wordless half-hour burglary of a Paris jewelry shop. As his crew breaks through the floor, the aging gangster Tony le Stephanois (Jean Servais) checks his wristwatch to keep the job on schedule. The watch is clear in close-up, a chronograph with two sub-dials on a leather strap, no maker legible, so it is recorded as an unidentified watch with the frame kept as evidence.
