Jean Reno wears an IWC Portugieser

Patrick disappeared before either of his daughters was born, and Mes Trésors (2017, released in English as Family Heist) brings the international thief back into their lives because he needs them for a job. Carole is an introverted computer scientist who still lives with her mother. Caroline picks pockets in the grand hotels of the Côte d'Azur. The half-sisters have never met and share nothing except the father neither has ever seen, and Jean Reno's Patrick reunites them to steal a Stradivarius worth fifteen million euros. That watch is an IWC Portugaise in steel, by the French site Montres-de-Luxe's identification, and the site supplies the context that gives the spot its weight: Reno stays faithful to IWC and wears the brand's watches, most of the time, even in his films. The Portugieser line goes back to 1939, when two Portuguese businessmen asked IWC for a wristwatch with the accuracy of a marine chronometer, and the oversized case and plain numerals that answered them have barely changed since.
