On the night of November 13, 2015, coordinated attacks across Paris killed 130 people. Cédric Jimenez's Novembre follows the anti-terrorism unit that hunted the perpetrators through the five days between the attacks and the Saint-Denis raid, with Jean Dujardin as Fred, the commander running the investigation, and Anaïs Demoustier and Sandrine Kiberlain in the unit around him. Jimenez came to it straight off Bac Nord; the film premiered out of competition at Cannes in 2022, reached French cinemas that October, and Olivier Demangel's script keeps it inside the procedure.

Fred's watch is French, and the watchmaker wants you to know it. Dujardin wears an Herbelin Newport Automatic Chronograph, logged by the French watch column Montres-de-luxe and claimed by Herbelin itself, whose product page for the model ends with the placement: "Just like Oscar-winning actor Jean Dujardin, who had the chance to test it in preview in the film NOVEMBRE." Herbelin has made watches in Franche-Comté since 1947, hand-assembling them in workshops near the Swiss border, and the Newport line dates to 1988. The Automatic Chronograph Fred wears is its modern redesign: a 43.5mm steel case with bezel screws the brand says evoke sailboat winches, a Swiss Sellita SW510 movement, three counters, a date window at 4:30, and a black leather strap with blue stitching.
