Jason Schwartzman wears an unidentified watch

Augie Steenbeck spends most of Asteroid City with a camera in front of his face, and on the wrist that holds it is a steel watch. Black dial, silver numerals at twelve, three, six, and nine, a worn-in khaki NATO strap with a wide keeper. Augie is a war photographer who has just lost his wife and driven their four children into the desert for a 1955 Junior Stargazer convention, and the watch looks the part, a worn steel tool closer to a field watch than a dress piece.

Asteroid City is a film where almost everyone wears a watch, and Wes Anderson frames them to be seen. So someone was always going to try to identify Augie's. The closest anyone got is Nick Guzan at BAMF Style, who described it down to the strap keeper and then gave up on the brand: not the Longines, Omega, Rolex, Tudor, or Universal pieces it resembles, he wrote, though an Omega Constellation would be a similar vibe. No maker has claimed it. It stays a steel watch with no name.
