Jason Patric wears a Breitling Navitimer

The Losers (2010) is a comic-book action movie remembered now mostly for who was in it before they were famous: Chris Evans a year ahead of Captain America, Zoe Saldana between Avatar and Star Trek, Idris Elba still best known for The Wire. Jeffrey Dean Morgan leads the betrayed black-ops team. Jason Patric plays Max, the CIA handler who sells them out and becomes the man they spend the film hunting.

Writing up the film, the French magazine Montres-de-luxe identified Max's watch as a Breitling Navitimer chronograph with a silver dial on a steel bracelet, worn on the right wrist. The Navitimer is one of the oldest tool watches still in production, built in 1952 with a circular slide rule around the dial so pilots could work out fuel burn, airspeed, and unit conversions in the cockpit. Almost no one uses that slide rule now. It has been mostly decorative since the jet age made the manual math redundant.

The watch does not turn up cleanly in the stills available here. The promotional frames that show Patric have a dark-strapped watch on his left wrist, not the steel Navitimer the magazine puts on his right, so the identification rests on Montres-de-luxe rather than on a frame.
