The twist in Terminator Genisys is that John Connor, the messiah of the human resistance, has been converted into a Terminator himself. Jason Clarke plays the role, starting as the familiar leader sending Kyle Reese back in time, then turning into something the franchise has never tried before: the villain wearing the hero's face. The trailers spoiled this. The film never recovered. His watch has not been identified.
