In the 2014 Annie, Will Gluck's update of the musical, the Daddy Warbucks figure becomes Will Stacks, a telecom billionaire running for mayor of New York. Jamie Foxx plays Stacks, who takes in the foster girl Annie, played by Quvenzhané Wallis, as a campaign stunt that turns genuine; Rose Byrne plays his assistant, Grace.
