2 Guns pairs Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg as a DEA agent and a Naval Intelligence officer who have each been sent, unknowingly, to investigate the other. James Marsden plays Quince, Wahlberg's corrupt Navy superior, one of the several double-crossers stacked up behind the two leads in Baltasar Kormákur's adaptation of Steven Grant's graphic novel.

On Quince's wrist, by one watch-spotting account, is a Rolex GMT-Master. Rolex built the GMT-Master in 1955 for Pan Am, whose pilots needed to read a second time zone at a glance, which the watch does with a 24-hour hand and a rotating bezel. It has been a pilot's tool and a status symbol ever since.

The identification is a thin one. A single French watch-spotting site logged the GMT-Master on Marsden in 2 Guns, and the watch is not a feature of his scenes, so the brand and model rest on that one call rather than on anything the film stops to show.
