Jack Lemmon wears an unidentified watch

Jack Lemmon plays Stanley Ford in How to Murder Your Wife, a bachelor cartoonist who wakes up after a wild party to discover he has married an Italian woman who does not speak English. Richard Quine directed this 1965 comedy, which starts as a fish-out-of-water farce and takes a darker turn when Stanley's cartoon character, a spy named Bash Brannigan, kills his wife in the strip and Stanley gets put on trial for actual murder. Lemmon plays Stanley as a man whose perfect life of luxury and freedom gets upended by a marriage he cannot remember agreeing to.
