The terrorists in Ransom (1974) hold two things at once: the British ambassador to a fictional Scandinavia, seized inside his residence, and a jetliner on the tarmac with a hijack team aboard. Ian McShane plays Ray Petrie, who runs the hijacking and threatens to start shooting hostages if the demands go unmet. Worn & Wound's vintage screen-watch roundup catches the watch on his wrist, "a fantastic Omega Speedmaster Mk. II that is seen a number of times throughout the film."
By 1974 the Mark II was Omega's newer Speedmaster, introduced in 1969 as a modern counterpart to the Moonwatch. Where the Moonwatch carried straight lugs and a printed tachymeter bezel, the Mark II came in a broad brushed barrel case and moved its tachymeter scale to the underside of the crystal, lit by a polished metal ring so the markings could not wear. The same hand-wound caliber 861 ran inside both. On Petrie's wrist it was barely five years old.
