Hugh Grant's Daniel Cleaver is back. In Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, the 2004 sequel directed by Beeban Kidron, Bridget, played by Renee Zellweger, is settling into life with Mark Darcy, played by Colin Firth, when her old boss and ex turns up again, this time co-presenting a television travel segment that sends the two of them to Thailand. Cleaver is exactly as he was, charming and unreliable and circling.

On his wrist is a Panerai Luminor Marina, its black sandwich dial and large luminous numerals clear as he stands with an arm around Bridget. Grant is a longtime Panerai wearer off screen, and Cleaver wore a Panerai in the first Bridget Jones film as well, so the watch carries over with the character. The dial markings identify it as a Luminor Marina, though no source has fixed the exact reference.
