Honor Blackman wears a Rolex GMT-Master

Pussy Galore runs a private flying circus, holds a judo black belt, and is the only person in Guy Hamilton's Goldfinger (1964) who seems genuinely unimpressed by James Bond. Honor Blackman plays her with a cool authority that the script doesn't entirely know what to do with. The character was more explicitly independent in Ian Fleming's novel, and Blackman brings enough of that energy to survive the era's compromises. She's a pilot first and a Bond girl second, and her watch reflects that.

The Rolex GMT-Master on her wrist is a pilot's watch, full stop. Rolex developed the GMT-Master in 1954 in collaboration with Pan American World Airways for their flight crews who needed to track multiple time zones simultaneously. The rotating two-tone bezel, later nicknamed "Pepsi" for its red and blue colors, became one of the most recognizable designs in watchmaking. On Galore, it's functional equipment. She flies planes for a living, and the GMT-Master is what professional aviators wore in the 1960s. The fact that it's also a Rolex speaks to her status: she's not a working pilot scraping by. She's a woman who operates her own fleet and can afford the best tool for the job.
