Robert Wise directed Odds Against Tomorrow (1959) the year before he made West Side Story, and you can see the same feel for location shooting and tension in both films. Harry Belafonte plays Johnny Ingram, a jazz musician drowning in gambling debts who gets recruited for a bank heist alongside a racist ex-con played by Robert Ryan. The film was one of the few noir-era thrillers to put a Black man at the center of the story, and Belafonte produced it himself to make sure it happened.
The available image is a backdrop, so the watch is not visible. Johnny's watch has not been identified. For a musician in debt, it would be something modest — maybe the last nice thing he has not pawned yet.
