Hardy Krüger wears a polished dress watch as Heinrich Dorfmann in The Flight of the Phoenix (1965). Crowded in with the other survivors, he shows a round chrome-cased watch with a pale dial and slim hands on a dark leather strap, a tidy mid-1960s piece that fits the precise model-plane designer.
