Franck Lazarev survives a shooting, rushes home, and finds armed, masked men waiting for him and his wife Léo, who is heavily pregnant with their first child. They want a key he supposedly has. From there, Ad Vitam (2025) has Léo taken by kidnappers connected to the shooting and Franck inside a state affair that runs into international espionage the French government is trying to bury. Guillaume Canet plays Franck and co-wrote the film with its director, Rodolphe Lauga, and David Corona; Stéphane Caillard plays Léo. Both characters are former members of the GIGN, the elite intervention group of the French gendarmerie, and Franck was dismissed after a tragic accident, a history the film unpacks in a flashback that jumps back a decade about half an hour in. Netflix released it on January 10, 2025.

He wears a Casio G-Shock with the GIGN logo visible on the strap. Casio made one GIGN edition of the G-Shock: a limited run of the GD-350 produced in 2014 for the unit's 40th anniversary, with the insignia printed on the rubber strap, a 53.4-millimeter resin case rated to 200 meters, and a feature set of chronograph, countdown, world time, and dive timing. The run was exclusive to GIGN members.

The G-Shock exists because a Casio engineer named Kikuo Ibe dropped a watch his father had given him and watched it break into many pieces. He set himself a target of three tens: survive a ten-meter drop, take ten bar of water pressure, run ten years on one battery. More than 200 prototypes later, the answer came from a playground, where Ibe watched a rubber ball bounce and imagined a watch engine floating inside it. The first G-Shock, the DW-5000C, went on sale in April 1983. It became a favorite of military and law enforcement personnel, and GIGN operators wear G-Shocks in the field.
