Frédéric Auburtin's Special Correspondents (Envoyés très spéciaux, 2009) sends two French radio journalists to cover the war in Iraq, then strands them in Paris, where they fake their dispatches without ever reaching the front. Gérard Lanvin plays Frank Bonneville, the star reporter whose name carries the broadcasts, alongside Gérard Jugnot as his sound engineer Albert Poussin. Omar Sy turns up in a supporting role, a few years before The Intouchables made him one of the biggest stars in France.
Early in the film, short of cash, Bonneville pawns his watch to raise money for radio equipment, telling the broker it is a Zenith and that he will come back for it. It is a steel Zenith on a leather strap. Zenith has built its own movements in Le Locle since Georges Favre-Jacot founded the manufacture there in 1865.
