Bryan Singer's The Usual Suspects (1995) puts five criminals in a police lineup, and Gabriel Byrne's Dean Keaton wears the most respectable watch among them. Keaton is a former corrupt cop turned restaurateur insisting he has gone straight, and a Rolex Submariner is one more prop of legitimacy alongside the lawyer girlfriend and the restaurant.
Whether any of it is real depends on how much of Verbal Kint's story you believe, which by the end of the film is the whole question. The Submariner works either way. If Keaton really has reformed, it reads as legitimate success; if he has not, it is part of the costume.
