Lou Marazano is an old hitman in a young man's world. Chicago Overcoat, a small 2009 mob picture directed by Brian Caunter, finally puts Frank Vincent at the head of the table after a career spent playing wiseguys in other directors' films. Marazano is the Outfit's longtime button man, pulled back into work he is half a generation too old for. He sits with his hands folded on a black tablecloth, and on his wrist there is a gold watch.
It is a Baume & Mercier, gold cased on a gold bracelet, with a pale dial. There is a scene where Marazano winds it in the morning, the habit of a man who still does by hand what the rest of the world has quit doing. The one published attempt to name the model, on a French watch site, offers it only tentatively, a Classima in steel on a steel bracelet. The watch on Vincent's wrist is plainly gold, case and bracelet both, so the steel reading falls apart and the model stays a guess. The brand and the gold are what the screen actually shows.
