The still on this record catches Rose mid-laugh at a table, eyes closed, hands raised together, and on her left wrist a gold rectangular watch with the vertical sidebars Cartier calls brancards. Aurelie Saada wrote and directed Rose (2021) as her feature debut, drawing on her own Tunisian Jewish family; she had spent the previous decade as half of the pop duo Brigitte. Francoise Fabian plays Rose, a 78-year-old widow in Paris whose husband's death cracks open a life she had held still for decades, and the French watch site Montres-de-luxe identified the watch as a gold Cartier Tank, no variant named, which is what the frame shows.

Fabian was 88 when she shot it, playing a decade younger. She worked with Bunuel and Rohmer in the 1960s, in Belle de Jour and My Night at Maud's, and sixty years later she is still anchoring a film. Gregory Montel, Gabriel to anyone who watched Dix pour cent, plays one of her sons. The Tank itself has been in production since 1917, when Louis Cartier took the form from the Renault tanks of the Western Front, the brancards standing in for the treads.
