The key art for Rampage (2018) puts Davis Okoye where the movie keeps him, standing in the open between three genetically edited monsters, and on his left wrist sits an oversized black tactical watch. Brad Peyton's film is loosely based on the Midway arcade game. Dwayne Johnson plays Okoye, a former US Army Special Forces soldier turned primatologist whose closest friend is George, a rare leucistic western lowland gorilla, until a gene-manipulating pathogen mutates George and two other animals into the title's giants. Naomie Harris joins the chase as Katherine "Kate" Caldwell, a disgraced genetic engineer.
The watch identification comes from the manufacturer. MTM lists the film on its own media page, "MOVIE - Rampage / Cobra," and its write-up of the model goes further: "The black dial, as sported by Johnson, comes with a matching Ballistic black strap," worn, the brand says, through the shoots of both Rampage and Skyscraper that year. What neither the brand nor the screen settles is the exact build. The Cobra sells in two case sizes, several case finishes and dial colors, and a range of straps, so the identification stays at the model level.
In the key art the watch is plainly visible: a chunky round black head with a heavy crown on a wide black strap, consistent with the Cobra in any of its builds. MTM makes oversized tactical watches for military and law enforcement customers, and its media page treats film wrists as a running catalog; Jake Gyllenhaal's Vulture in The Covenant and Chris Pratt's Air Stryk II in The Tomorrow War sit on the same list.
