Dwayne Johnson wears a Hamilton Khaki Navy

For much of Central Intelligence, Bob Stone wears a yellow t-shirt with a unicorn on it. That is more or less the joke Rawson Marshall Thurber builds his 2016 comedy around. Twenty years before the story opens, Stone was a heavy, bullied teenager named Robbie Weirdicht, and the worst day of his school life came when a group of boys threw him naked into the gym in the middle of an assembly. One classmate stood up for him. That was Calvin Joyner, now a forensic accountant played by Kevin Hart. Stone tracks Calvin down on the eve of their high school reunion, except he is not heavy anymore. He is Dwayne Johnson, a CIA agent who still likes the unicorn shirt, and he pulls Calvin into an espionage mess the accountant spends the rest of the film failing to understand.

On Stone's wrist through all of it is a Hamilton Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO. It is a real dive watch and an almost comically large one, an all-black block of PVD-coated steel that measures 46 millimeters across, stands more than 15 millimeters tall, and weighs around 183 grams. A unidirectional bezel rings the dial, a helium escape valve sits in the side of the case, and the depth rating runs to a thousand meters, farther down than any diver has ever gone without a vehicle. Reviewers who like the watch tend to admit, almost in the same sentence, that they cannot get it to sit right on a normal wrist. Writing for Fratello, Lex Stolk turned that into a question: are you big enough, as a star, to carry a watch this size? Then he answered with Dwayne Johnson, who he said managed to make the XXL Hamilton look like a delicate dress watch.
