John Creasy is drinking himself to death when he takes a job in Mexico City guarding a nine-year-old girl named Pita, played by Dakota Fanning. Denzel Washington plays the burned-out former CIA operative and Force Recon Marine in Tony Scott's Man on Fire (2004), the camera and the cutting pitched to match a man living inside his own alcoholism. On Creasy's wrist for the whole film is a Casio Pro Trek, sold in the United States as the Pathfinder PRG-40, a chunky triple-sensor watch with a compass, an altimeter, and a thermometer. Casio collectors know the model so well from this role that many of them just call it the Man on Fire. When Pita is taken, Creasy's old discipline returns, and the watch goes to work with him.
