On MTM's media page, in a long list of watches the brand has placed on screen, one line reads: Dar Salim, Debriefing the President, Gray Cobra. No footage backs it up yet, because the series has not aired.
Debriefing the President takes its name from John Nixon's memoir. Nixon was the CIA analyst who first identified and then questioned Saddam Hussein after American soldiers pulled the deposed Iraqi president from a spider hole near Tikrit in December 2003. TNT has built the book into a four-hour limited series, since retitled High Value Target, with Joel Kinnaman as Nixon and Waleed Zuaiter as Saddam. The production filmed in Cairo through the first half of 2025 and went into post-production, with a premiere expected in 2026.
The Gray Cobra belongs to MTM's Special Ops line, built in sandblasted gunmetal titanium rather than steel. It runs a quartz chronograph under a sapphire crystal, carries a ratcheting bezel and a screw-down crown, seals to 200 meters, and ships individually numbered for somewhere between 1,800 and 2,000 dollars. MTM sells the Special Ops watches to military and police buyers, which is the logic behind putting one in a drama set in the Iraq of 2003.
The placement is MTM's claim, not a frame from the show. The company says Salim wears the Gray Cobra and points shoppers to the same watch in its store, so until the episodes run, the closest thing to a sighting is the brand's own webpage.
