A watch on a commercial diver's wrist at 670 feet is not jewelry. It is equipment. Danny Huston plays Engel in Ron Scalpello's 2015 Pressure, the most experienced member of a four-man dive team that gets stranded on the ocean floor when a storm sinks their support ship. Matthew Goode, Joe Cole, and Alan McKenna play the other three divers, trapped in a small diving bell with limited air and no way to reach the surface. The film is a single-location survival thriller that never quite generates the tension it should — the claustrophobia of the setting doesn't fully translate to the screen — but Huston's Engel is the best thing in it, playing a man who has done this work long enough to know exactly how bad their situation is.
In the image, Huston sits in his dive suit with a commercial diving helmet in front of him. A watch is visible on his left wrist — chunky and steel, the kind of piece you'd expect on a saturation diver. It hasn't been identified, but at those depths, most personal watches are irrelevant. The dive computers and pressure gauges do the real timekeeping.
