Home / Jerry Maguire / Cuba Gooding Jr.
- Actor
- Cuba Gooding Jr.
- Character
- Rod Tidwell
- Status
- Confirmed
Rod Tidwell slumps in an airport lounge chair, a beer in hand and a two-tone TAG Heuer on his wrist. Cuba Gooding Jr. plays him in Jerry Maguire (1996), an Arizona Cardinals wide receiver who becomes Jerry Maguire's only client after the agent's agency implodes. Gooding won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for the role, largely on the final-game sequence where Tidwell takes a hit, lies motionless, then leaps up to celebrate.
The watch is a two-tone TAG Heuer Professional 200, the 200-meter dive line that TAG Heuer would relaunch as the Aquaracer. Jerry Maguire puts a TAG on both agent and client, and against Maguire's loud, overdesigned S/el, Tidwell's two-tone Professional is the more restrained of the two.
