The villain in Tom Tykwer's The International (2009) is a bank. The IBBC, modeled loosely on the real Bank of Credit and Commerce International, launders money and arms whoever pays. Clive Owen plays Louis Salinger, an Interpol agent whose case against it keeps collapsing as witnesses are killed and investigators are bought. Naomi Watts plays Eleanor Whitman, a Manhattan assistant district attorney working the case with him. Tykwer shot across Berlin, Milan, New York, and Istanbul, and staged the film's centerpiece, a long shootout, inside a full-scale replica of the Guggenheim Museum.
Salinger wears a watch through the film, but it is never shown clearly enough on screen to pin down a brand or model.
