Clive Owen wears a Panerai Luminor

Will Cameron is an advertising executive in suburban Chicago, the kind of father who has come to believe that providing well for his family is the same as keeping it safe. In Trust, the 2010 drama directed by David Schwimmer, that belief comes apart. Cameron's fourteen-year-old daughter, Annie, is groomed online by a man calling himself Charlie and then assaulted by him, and the film stays with her father as he tries, and fails, to absorb what has happened. Clive Owen plays him without any of the usual catharsis: Cameron never tracks the man down, and the picture refuses to turn into a thriller about a father's revenge.
