Clark Gregg wears a Rolex Submariner

(500) Days of Summer (2009) tells its story out of order, jumping between numbered days in a nonlinear sequence, and dares the audience to figure out where the love story went wrong. Marc Webb directs Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Tom, a greeting-card writer convinced he's found the one in Summer (Zooey Deschanel), who does not agree. Clark Gregg plays Vance, Tom's boss at the greeting card company, a peripheral figure in Tom's romantic spiral.

In his office scenes, Vance wears a steel Rolex Submariner on an Oyster bracelet, the watch visible on his wrist as he sits across the desk from Tom. Rolex introduced the Submariner in 1953 as a dive watch, water resistant with a rotating timing bezel and a black dial, and it has stayed close to that template ever since.
