Jonathan Reiss is a Nobel Prize-winning biochemist who now deals in biological weapons. Ciaran Hinds plays the villain of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life (2003) as a man of refined tastes and zero moral guardrails, the kind of antagonist who can discuss molecular biology over dinner before ordering someone killed. Jan de Bont's sequel sends Angelina Jolie's Lara Croft after Pandora's Box while Reiss races her to it, planning to weaponize whatever plague it supposedly contains.
Hinds wears a Rotary Revelation Chronograph. Rotary is a British brand, founded in 1895 by Moise Dreyfuss in Switzerland but long associated with the UK market. The Revelation line features an exposed movement visible through the dial, which adds visual interest but keeps the price accessible compared to Swiss luxury houses. On a fictional arms dealer with a Nobel Prize, you might expect something like a Patek Philippe or a Vacheron Constantin. But Rotary's British connection at least fits a villain operating in international espionage circles, and the Revelation's transparent dial works as a visual cue for a character who trades in dangerous knowledge.
