The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso was designed in 1931 so polo players could flip the case and protect the crystal during a match. Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight puts a Reverso Grande Taille on Bruce Wayne's wrist across his scenes as Gotham's billionaire philanthropist, the identity he performs while spending his nights beating criminals unconscious. Its case flips to hide the dial, an obvious fit for a character who keeps a second identity hidden, and one of the rare watch placements where that kind of symbolism does not feel forced.
The Grande Taille is the classic full-size men's Reverso: a rectangular Art Deco case with fluted gadroons top and bottom, a clean silvered dial, and a solid metal caseback that swings into place to shield the crystal when the case is flipped. Wayne wears it with tailored suits at board meetings and fundraisers, and it comes off when the suit does and the armor goes on.
