Chris Pratt wears a Casio G-Shock

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) sends Owen Grady back to Isla Nublar to rescue the remaining dinosaurs ahead of a volcanic eruption, and finds him deep in the jungle, right arm extended, palm raised, the gesture he uses to settle a raptor. On that wrist, turned so the display faces him, is a big black watch.

The identification comes from G-Central, the G-Shock news site that followed Chris Pratt's wrist through the entire trilogy. It called the watch a Casio G-Shock GA-700-1B "based on the shape of the bezel and bands and the look of dial," and it was candid about the limit of the evidence: "We don't have a very clear shot of the watch." Part of the problem is habit. Grady wears it "military-style with the display on the inside of the wrist," which leaves the camera mostly band and case back. The site also spotted the GD-100-1B, the digital model Pratt wore the same way in the 2015 film, turning up again in this one.

The film around the watch is J.A. Bayona's first in the franchise, and it splits in two: the volcano takes the island in the first half, and the rescued animals end up at the Lockwood estate, where buyers bid on them in a black market auction. Owen's job in the early going is to help track down Blue, the raptor he trained. The GA-700 he does it with was a 2016 addition to the G-Shock lineup, an oversized analog-digital larger than the GA-100, with a battery Casio estimates at five years.
