Chazz Palminteri wears a Movado Museum

A Bronx Tale (1993) was Robert De Niro's directorial debut, adapted by Chazz Palminteri from his own one-man play, in which he had performed all eighteen characters. Palminteri refused to sell the rights unless he wrote the screenplay and played Sonny, the neighborhood boss; De Niro agreed and cast himself as Lorenzo, the bus-driver father trying to keep his son Calogero out of the life. Set in the 1960s Bronx of Palminteri's own childhood, it has Lillo Brancato as the teenage Calogero, Francis Capra as the boy, and a brief Joe Pesci as Carmine.

Sonny wears a Movado Museum, the watch with almost nothing on its dial. Nathan George Horwitt designed that face in 1947, a lone dot at twelve on plain black, meant to mark the sun at high noon, and the Museum of Modern Art took the design into its collection around 1960, which is where the name comes from. Movado itself goes back to 1881 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, founded by Achille Ditesheim and later renamed with the Esperanto word for always in motion. Sonny's is the 40mm steel version with a silver-toned dot on a black strap, recognizable to anyone who knows the dial.
