Long Shot is Jonathan Levine's 2019 romantic comedy. Seth Rogen plays Fred Flarsky, a journalist who reconnects with Charlize Theron's Charlotte Field, the US Secretary of State who is running for president and who, years earlier, used to babysit him. She hires him to punch up her speeches, and the two fall for each other.
On Charlotte's wrist is a Hamilton Bagley. Hamilton first made the Bagley in 1939 as a small women's dress watch, meant to sit between a practical timepiece and a piece of jewelry; the one in the film is a modern reissue of it, with a quilted dial. The watch is there because Hamilton put it there. The company has placed its watches in more films than any other brand, by its own count several hundred of them, from 2001: A Space Odyssey to Interstellar, which is why WorldTempus, writing up the Long Shot placement, calls Hamilton the watchmaker for filmmakers.
