Steve Ford is a Venice Beach private detective whose dog gets taken by Spyder, a drug lord who forces him to run jobs for the animal's safe return, and Once Upon a Time in Venice (2017) follows Ford and his assistant John through the errands. Bruce Willis plays Ford, Jason Momoa plays Spyder, Thomas Middleditch is the assistant, John Goodman is Ford's best friend Dave, and Famke Janssen is his sister-in-law Katey. The Cullen brothers wrote it together and Mark Cullen made it his directorial debut; RLJ Entertainment released it in June 2017, in a few theaters and on demand.
The French site Montres-de-Luxe identified the watch on Ford's wrist as a Bell & Ross BR 01-94 chronograph on a black rubber strap, worn on his right wrist, clearly visible several times across the film, and added that it is very probably Willis's personal watch. No other outlet covered it. The BR 01 is Bell & Ross's signature square, introduced in 2005 and modeled on cockpit instrument clocks, 46mm across with oversized numerals built for reading at a glance; the 94 designation makes it the chronograph version. In the press still of Ford sitting on a car hood beside his dog, his bare left arm holds a coffee cup and the watch arm sits mostly out of frame, which is about as close as the published images come to showing it.
