Logan Roy is the patriarch the whole show orbits, the media magnate his four children spend four seasons failing to replace. Brian Cox plays him as a man with nothing left to prove, and his watch says the same thing. On his wrist, resting on the boardroom table, is a Breguet Classique.
Breguet is one of the oldest names in watchmaking, founded by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1775, the house credited with inventing the tourbillon and giving the wristwatch its guilloché dials and blued pomme hands. The Classique is its plainest, most self-assured dress watch, a thin round gold case on a leather strap that looks like almost nothing until you know what it is. That is the entire point of Logan Roy: he does not need the loudest watch in the room because he owns the room.
Where his children signal with Patek sports watches and Richard Milles, Logan wears the watch of old, settled, unquestioned money. It whispers instead of shouts, which is a luxury only the person actually in charge can afford.
