The Hangover trilogy ends where it started — with Phil Wenneck trying to hold everything together while his friends make it worse. Bradley Cooper plays Phil across all three films, and by this 2013 finale, Todd Phillips has abandoned the blackout formula for a straight chase movie. John Goodman's crime boss kidnaps Doug (who spent the first film on a rooftop, so getting kidnapped again feels like fate), and the Wolfpack has to track down Mr. Chow to get him back.
His watch hasn't been identified. The third film is the strangest of the three because it's not really a comedy — it's a heist movie with comedians in it, and Phil spends most of it looking worried instead of reckless. By 2013, Cooper was an Oscar nominee for Silver Linings Playbook, and you can feel him outgrowing the material. Phil Wenneck was the role that made him a movie star, but the character seems ready to move on.
