In one scene of Narcos, Steve Murphy sits in profile over a beer, a cigarette burning by his head, looking down at the table. Boyd Holbrook plays him, the DEA agent who narrates the hunt for Pablo Escobar in the flat, certain voice of a man who already knows how it ends. He is posted to Bogotá to help run down Escobar and the Medellín cartel, and the longer Colombia works on him the more that certainty frays. By the second season he is less the narrator of the violence than a party to it.

The watch he wears through the show is an Omega De Ville, and the dial says what it is: De Ville, Automatic Chronometer, Japan Made, lettered across a white face with gold baton markers, gold hands, and a date window at three. The bracelet is steel, a flat multi-link band on a butterfly clasp signed Omega. It is a self-winding dress watch, by the dial's own account a chronometer certified to keep good time, the quietly nice thing a working federal agent buys himself.

On screen the watch barely registers, a plain white dial easy to lose against a shirt cuff, which is most of how it appears. Propstore sold this exact piece at its Narcos auction on December 21, 2016, lot 15826, screen-worn by Holbrook through the second season and shipped with a certificate of authenticity. The narrator is a dramatization of a real DEA agent who worked the Escobar case out of Bogotá. The watch is the part with a lot number.
