Michael Curtiz directed White Christmas (1954) the same year he made The Egyptian and King Richard and the Crusaders, which gives you a sense of how fast the studio system worked. The film pairs Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye as Bob Wallace and Phil Davis, two Army entertainers who build a successful nightclub act after the war and end up at a Vermont inn run by their former commanding general. Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen play the Haynes sisters, and the whole thing is a VistaVision showcase for Irving Berlin's songs.
The available image is a backdrop of the Haynes sisters performing, so Crosby's watch is not visible. It has been described as gold-toned, which would be right for a character who has money and knows how to wear it without making a fuss. Bob Wallace is Crosby at his most effortless — the singing, the charm, the easy authority. A gold dress watch fits that. The brand has not been identified.
