Billy Bob Thornton wears a Seiko 6309

George Tillman Jr.'s Faster (2010) is a lean revenge picture. Dwayne Johnson, just out of prison, works through a list of the men who killed his brother. Billy Bob Thornton plays Detective Slade Humphries, a corrupt, heroin-addicted cop close to retirement who is tangled up in the original crime and assigned to the case.

The watch on his wrist is a Seiko 6309, the cushion-cased automatic diver Seiko built from 1976 to 1988, with a day-date and 150 meters of water resistance. It is one of the most collected of Seiko's affordable vintage divers. The identification is unusually well documented: Hodinkee ran a Friday Afternoon Find on it in 2011, after the screen-worn watch turned up for sale at the prop house Premiere Props for $329.99. Hodinkee called it "a Seiko reference 6309, which is a reference appreciated by many Seiko collectors," and noted that prop watches are sometimes non-working dummies, so a buyer would want to check.
