American Ultra (2015) is Nima Nourizadeh's film about Mike, a stoner convenience store clerk played by Jesse Eisenberg who has no idea he is a CIA sleeper agent until the agency decides to kill him. The order comes from Adrian Yates, a preening young deputy director. The man who countermands it is Bill Pullman's Krueger, the senior official Yates answers to, who arrives late, surveys the wreckage, and shuts the operation down.
