High Velocity was the only film Remi Kramer ever directed, a low-budget 1976 action picture shot in the Philippines with a better cast than its budget suggests. Ben Gazzara plays Cliff Baumgartner, a Vietnam veteran turned mercenary hired to rescue a kidnapped corporate executive, and he pulls in a former comrade, played by Paul Winfield, to help. Britt Ekland and Keenan Wynn fill out the cast, and Jerry Goldsmith, of all people, wrote the score.
What Baumgartner wears on his wrist is another matter. A mercenary fresh out of Vietnam is the sort of character who might carry a Seiko 6105-8110, the diver that became shorthand for American service in that war, and that is presumably the thinking behind naming it a Seiko. But nothing confirms it. There is no clear shot of his wrist to work from, only the film's theatrical poster, which shows no watch at all. The honest version is the short one: the make of his watch is unknown.
